Debt in the City

When Karyn Bosnak found herself $20,000 in debt after "too many BCBG tops, too many lattes, and too many Gucci purses", she looked to the kindness of strangers.

In June of 2002, she built SaveKaryn. Karyn figured all she needed was 20,000 generous people to give her $1, and the pesky debt would be gone.

Believe it or not, in 20 short weeks - it was.

Since then, stories about Karyn have appeared in The New York Times, People, and Time. She's appeared on the Today Show (3 times!), and published her story "Save Karyn", which has already been translated into 5 languages. There's even talk about a major motion picture.

Feeling generous? Karyn is now giving others a helping hand by linking to other broke folks looking for help.
